When my eldest celebrated her birthday last month, I made sure that she had a blast. I bought her a pretty pink dress with matching shoes and I even had her hair fixed in a salon. But even before that I took care of some other important details like the party favors, the food for the party, the venue for the party and of course, the birthday invitations.

I made sure that the birthday invites are also pink. I wanted only the best for my eldest. I made sure she had a party she will never forget. Judging from the smile on the face of my young lady, I can tell that she had a grand time at her party.

Next stop for me as far as parties go: the birthdays of my son and youngest daughter. As early as now, I am already making plans. I just need to make sure that I stick to that plan and not go off-course. It’s important that I do because I plan birthday celebrations three times a year.

I love being a mother and I think it’s obvious from the way I try to balance work and spending time with my children. But to tell you honestly, there are a few things I don’t like about being a mother. I hate missing my kids so much, seeing them get hurt and worrying when they get sick.

I think I should’ve had non skid floors when I had the house renovated so my kids wouldn’t ever have to slide down and hurt themselves. I don’t want to see them with boo boos and worst, I don’t want them to have broken bones. It pains me to see them hurt and crying.

I’m going to look into the possibility of having non skid mats in areas where my kids often hang around in the house. I don’t want to put them at risk. Besides, I don’t want to subject myself to worry. I already have a lot of things on my mind right now to make room for it.

It’s always wonderful to welcome a new baby into the world. During such a time, congratulations are in order for the parents of the baby. But other than that, the new grandparents deserve gifts, too. After all, they have parts to play in the birth of the child as well.

If, like me, you often find it hard to look for a gift that’s most appropriate for a specific recipient, then it would be a wise move to go online and do the searching there. There are plenty of websites that give ideas and even sell new grandmother gifts so you wouldn’t have a hard time looking.

One fine example is a hanging foot or hand print keepsake kit. It includes an impression material that can be air-dried so grandma can make her own print of the baby’s foot or hand. Another awesome idea is a personalized pendant that says “Grandma”. The list is endless. You just need to know how and where to look for that one perfect gift.
