My husband and I are both graduates of an engineering course. Aside from the specialized fields we took, the difference between us two is that my husband is a licensed ECE Engineer while I am an underboard Civil Engineering graduate. We, my husband and my parents tried to convince me to take the Civil Engineering Board Exam but unfortunately I denied their request. It’s been 10 years plus since the last time I laid my thoughts on all civil engineering works and I don’t think I would remember a thing. Besides, they might have plenty of changes in the curriculum today that might have become the new basis of their board exams. Most of the students today knows how to run a project management software while when I was studying, we did it manually. Some of them have new applications on how to make building while I studied old school.
Anyway, I wanted to pursue learning but this time not in my previous field. I want to go back to school to study education or business administration. I want to pursue my passion (teaching) or elaborate on my work experiences in the field of sales training and business management (business administration). I believe that I would be a better career person with these courses than my old one.
Besides, getting these new courses will supplement our dreams of getting a job in Canada. Teachers and store supervisors are in demand in Canada than Civil Engineers. So I think, this is better than taking the board exams.
